Day 1: Welcome to Belize | Punta Gorda
Arrive in Belize and enjoy a flight down the coastline to Punta Gorda (locally called as PG) in the Toledo District of southern Belize, experiencing the breath-taking aerial views of mountains, rainforest and coral reefs. Your guide will assist you with check in at your hotel in PG and then take you for a delicious Belizean dinner.

Day 2: Kayak Joe Taylor Creek | Ancient Maya Ruin Lubaantun | Punta Gorda
An early morning tour of Punta Gorda Town on bicycle is the ideal way to start your morning right! Grab breakfast at a local restaurant before heading out to the Joe Taylor creek for some mid-morning birding. A leisurely kayak down the river to view birds and other wildlife as you glide near mangrove forest into the tropical rainforest is a perfect way to get a feel for the diverse ecosystems that can be found in this district of Belize. Enjoy lunch at a restaurant in town, then travel to inland Toledo for some birding adventures near the Maya Site of Lubaantun. Explore this ancient site from the Maya Classic Era and learn about the ancient Mayas as well as the controversial Crystal Skull. Dinner and overnight in Punta Gorda Town.

Day 3: Monkey River Birding | Payne’s Creek National Park
After breakfast, venture to Monkey River which offers some of the best sightings of Howler Monkeys in Belize! Enjoy a scenic tour from Punta Gorda Town to this small fishing village and travel up-river for wonderful wildlife sightings. Indulge in a delicious lunch before going by boat to Payne’s Creek National Park for an overnight stay with our friendly rangers. Managed by the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment, Payne’s Creek National Park protects hypersaline, saline, brackish and freshwater habitats, mangroves, broadleaf forest and savannah, offering a diverse array of wildlife to explore the following day.

Day 4: Punta Negra | Port Honduras Marine Reserve | Garifuna Drumming
Early morning birding with your guide on the nature trails inside this prestigious national park. Payne’s Creek is home to the nesting sites of the endangered Yellow-headed Parrot among many other resident and migratory birds who flock to this natural piece of paradise. A traditional creole lunch will be prepared for you and your guide in the neighbouring village of Punta Negra. Stop in for a snorkel experience in the Port Honduras Marine Reserve, another significant natural gem managed by the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment. . Enjoy crystal clear waters, view many species of aquatic life and bask in the sun on sandy beaches of West Snake Caye before heading back to Punta Gorda Town. Tonight, you will celebrate with entertaining Garifuna drumming and a traditional Garifuna Meal. Overnight in Punta Gorda.

Day 5: Nim Li Punit Maya Ruin | Big Falls | Rio Grande River
After breakfast, another inland tour will take you to Maya site of Nim Li Punit for more birding adventures with your guide. Nim Li Punit is a medium sized archaeological site from the Maya Classic Period, famous for its unusual ancient stelae, which can be found in the onsite museum. While there, your guide will point out the plentiful birding opportunities that surround this ancient site. Thereafter, enjoy lunch in Big Falls Village followed by a leisurely river tubing tour down the Rio Grande as you look out for birds, river otters and much more. Dinner and overnight in Punta Gorda Town.

Day 6: Departure
After breakfast you will depart on a local airline to the International Airport in Belize.
