Day 1: Welcome to Belize| Punta Gorda
Arrive in Belize and fly on a local airline to Punta Gorda, where you will enjoy the spectacular sights of forest covered mountains, tropical rainforest and glistening coral reefs from the air. You will be warmly greeted by your TIDE Tours guide and taken to your hotel. Enjoy a delicious Belizean dinner in the evening.

Day 2: San Miguel Maya Immersion Tour
After breakfast, enjoy learning about the small town of Punta Gorda as you tour the town by bicycle. Visit the bustling local market, chocolate factory and other interesting places in town. For a truly Maya cultural immersion, you will travel off to the village of San Miguel and participate in preparing a traditional Maya meal. Have lunch in an authentic Maya home before venturing out to the Maya temples of Toledo. Visit Lubaantun, which dates back from the Maya Classic Era, famous for the controversial crystal skull, where your guide will share with you the rich history of the Mayas. Then it is on to Nim Li Punit from the Maya Classic Period, famous for its incredible selection of Stelae, which can be viewed in the onsite museum. Be amazed by the complex and precision architectural skills of the ancient Maya! Dinner and overnight in Punta Gorda Town with an option to overnight in the Maya community of San Miguel.

Day 3: Blue Creek Cave | River Tubing or Zip-lining | Punta Gorda
After breakfast, enjoy an exciting day of caving inside the Blue Creek Cave (locally known as Hokeb Ha Cave). Float through the refreshing stream within and admire the gnarly limestone formations and mineral deposits that have formed over hundreds of years. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch on the white rocks near the riverbank after your cave tour. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing river tubing tour down the Rio Grande or an exhilarating zip-lining tour through the treetops in Big Falls Village. Dinner and overnight stay in Punta Gorda Town.

Day 4: Xunantunich Maya Ruin Tour | Cayo
After breakfast, travel overland to the Western part of Belize known as Cayo. Here you will visit a unique Maya Site, situated in the village of San Jose Succotz. Just a short ferry ride across the Mopan River, you will find yourself at the vast Xunantunich Maya Site, a classic period ceremonial center. Spend the afternoon learning about the early history of this Maya ruin and if you’re feeling energetic you can even climb up the steps of Xunantunich to enjoy the views across the beautiful Mopan River Valley. Dinner and overnight stay at a beautiful resort in Cayo.

Day 5: Departure
Your TIDE Tours guide will escort you to Belize International Airport for your departure home.
