Day 1: Welcome to Belize | Punta Gorda
Arrive in Belize and take a local airline flight to Punta Gorda. Enjoy the spectacular views of rocky mountain ranges, tropical rainforest and glistening coral reefs pass you by on this quick flight down the coast. Enjoy a welcome dinner in the evening. Overnight stay in Punta Gorda.

Day 2&3:Fly-fishing at Port Honduras Marine Reserve | Punta Gorda
On your first two days you’ll fish the rivers and flats closest to Punta Gorda Town and in the Port Honduras Marine Reserve managed by the award winning team of the Toledo Institute for Development and Environment. The Port Honduras Marine Reserve with its mangrove coasts, clear rivers, hundreds of protective Cayes, and the Barrier Reef, forms one of the best fish nurseries in the Caribbean. The waters are chock full of Barracuda, Bonito, Kingfish, Jacks, and Snapper. The real prize of these waters is the elusive Permit. Catching one of these is the challenge set by many fishers. The waters of the Port Honduras Marine Reserve and Payne’s Creek National Park are unparalleled for both numbers of fish and average size, so make a great setting for your first days of fly fishing. After a long day at sea, enjoy a delicious dinner and overnight stay in Punta Gorda Town.

Day 4&5: Fly-fishing out at the Sapodilla Cayes | Lime Caye
Travel out to the crystal clear waters of the Belize Barrier Reef, the 2nd largest barrier reef system in the world. You will be fishing in the waters surrounding the Sapodilla Cayes – unspoilt, picture perfect, Caribbean islands. Here, it is not uncommon to see hundreds of Permit a day, with many exceeding 30lbs, although the average fish is approximately 15lbs. A grand slam is always a possibility in these waters, if you can land one of these wily fish! Enjoy a fantastic lunch on the white sandy beaches of Lime Caye where you will camp and stay overnight for 2 nights.

Day 6: Half Day fishing in Sapodilla Cayes | Garifuna Drumming | Punta Gorda
After breakfast, enjoy a half day of fishing before heading back to Punta Gorda Town for an afternoon of relaxation and exploring, if you please! Indulge in the Garifuna Culture with dinner and drumming to celebrate your best catch before leaving Belize.
