River Tubing – Medina Bank

Immerse yourself in adventure and local culture with the Medina Bank community. After traveling an hour north of Punta Gorda, you will be greeted by a local guide who will welcome you to Ketchi Maya village of Medina Bank. After a short village tour, where you can see the local fruits that grow, great local families, and stroll along the peaceful river, you will start your river tubing adventure.

Sit back and relax as you river tube along an unblemished stretch of the Deep River past the entangled vines and gliding over the turquoise stones ending by the bridge on the highway. Along the route, you will be able to see pristine natural forests, bird species like the green kingfisher, river otters, and a variety of fishes and butterflies. The Deep River is one of the rivers that connect the Maya mountains to the Caribbean Sea. You will spend approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour gently flowing with the calm river.

If you choose to do this as a morning tour, enjoy a traditional Maya lunch with a family from the Medina Bank village.
